Jupiter

This is a poem that I wrote. The name of the poem is "Jupiter". As I was writing it I found that it takes on so many different meanings. The primary reason I wrote this poem was in dedication to my late grandparents. I lost my two grandmothers last year and Ive always wanted to do something to pay my respects (in a more sincere way). This poem comes from a place of very raw, real, emotion. And id like to share it with you.... Hopefully you can identify with this poem in some way, so read on. Let me know what what you think.

Jupiter

This place that Im in currently
Holds no longevity.

Its faux trees and impossible animals
Has no commitment to me.

What am I supposed to do in a world so superficial?
A world where dreams are forged, unoriginal, unthinkable, untrue.

This haze
These clouds of smoke
Prohibits my horizon
Begins to flatten my world
Creates an end to my endless oceans.

The further im pushed away
The more my blood begins to thin
Its way too cold here.

Wouldn’t think to cry
My tears would shatter
This ground is never-ending
This crater is way too deep.

Its time things go back to its originality
I’ve had enough of residing in this place.
Its vacancy is something that is much more realistic now.

Its time for me to go back home
To Jupiter.
I need my rings to orbit around me again.
